Dear Parents and Airborne Cheer participants,

I am so excited to get started with our first full season of Airborne Cheer! There are quite a few things that I need to go over, which is valuable information that you and your child will need to know…. So stick with me!

First I would like to tell you a little about myself. My name is Kaylie Bailey and I was raised in Idaho Falls, ID.  I have danced competitively since I was 3 and in Junior High switched my focus to Cheerleading, and FELL IN LOVE WITH IT! I cheered in High School and placed 1st at our State Championships. I then attended BYU-Idaho and was on the spirit squad which consisted of dance and cheer. In college I took every opportunity to take as many dance orientated classes as possible (world dance, gymnastics, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, cheer, clogging, and modern). I then moved to Utah and attended UVU taking many more dance classes, and began choreographing for a private studio. I then moved back to Idaho where I coached High School competitive cheerleading and choreographed award-winning competition routines. While in Idaho I attended many coaching camps and became a certified cheerleading coach through the Universal Cheerleading Association. I am currently the coach and choreographer for Airborne Cheer, All-Star cheer team.  I am also currently the director of the Miss Ephraim pageant as well.  I currently live in Ephraim with my husband Kyle and our 3 kids.

I would like to introduce you to the world of All-Star Cheerleading (for you who are new to this). All-Star Cheerleading is a Cheer team consisting of squad members of different ages, abilities, and area. We come together to do what we love, CHEER! We do not cheer for a certain sports team like regular cheer teams. We cheer for ourselves! It is in a way like a competitive dance group, as they come to practice and learn a routine to perform and compete with. It takes discipline and hard-work…. but generates stronger athletes inside and out. Routines consist of dance, jumps, tumbling, stunts, and cheers.

A general practice will consist of…. warming-up, stretching, conditioning, jumps, stunting, tumbling, dancing, and cheering. It’s a lot of hard work and you can expect to be tired at the end of practice. That’s not to say that we won’t be having a lot of FUN as well.

We will be performing at various events around the area. We will also be buying uniforms and shoes. Expect the cost to be reasonable, and we will have ways for the girls to raise the money if they choose. I will let everyone know prices and get the parents input as we get started.
This is going to be a great year! I am very excited to work with you and your children. Feel free to come to me with any questions and concerns at anytime!
